An Invitation to Light

by | Dec 21, 2023 | Article | 0 comments

At this time of year, as the days grow shorter, we celebrate the incarnation of Jesus Christ, the Light of the world.

In talking to Nicodemus, Jesus said, “This is the judgment: The light has come into the world, and people loved darkness rather than the light because their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the light and avoids it, so that his deeds may not be exposed. But anyone who lives by the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be shown to be accomplished by God.” (John 3:19-21)

As we think about darkness, not only in our secular world, but also in our own hearts, minds, and churches may we choose light. May we be like

  • the shepherds, who chose to leave the darkness in search of Jesus, the source of truth and righteousness.
  • Simeon and Anna, who chose to embrace the light, to rejoice and revel in Jesus, our  hope.
  • the wise men, who chose to leave the comfort of familiarity, courageously risking life and treasure to experience Jesus in worship and wonder.

Thank you for your prayers and support in 2023. Those of us at Clarity in Action Ministries wish each of you a blessed Christmas and New Year. God has used your kindness and prayers to serve others and we are grateful.
